As I began to watch David Kelly's talk at the 2002 Ted Conference, he showed a photo of the then BRAND NEW 'Treo' device. My jaw dropped as I think of the new Palm Pre today, introduced with only maybe 7 years apart, its shocking to see just how far we've come in the realm of just communication devices. I won't even mention the "Zack Morris Phone." The concept of its functionality is based from the same seed, an all in one device... knowing your schedule, being able to take notes, as well as...

As I note in the video, I took 3 of the class articles that I felt intertwined. Are blogs legitimate marketing materials? What constitutes as successful blogging or the rules of the road and just how exactly does this work with the content consumption? Vlog #2 from Brendan Grimaldi on Vimeo....
  • How Does Viral Go…Viral?

Are there rules for viral videos? I think that these video bites should be in two separate categories. Some videos just become something out of nothing. The first viral video I remember was from years and years ago of a news reporter stomping on grapes and falling over out of the barrel onto the ground. Another news viral video, an anchor setting up a story about a mountain climber saying the catch was that he was gay----errr---- BLIND, whoops! In recent memory there are a few viral video...

Having to decide on a project for this program was a tough challenge. There are endless options, and naturally a lot of work ahead for any project you choose. With my decision to create 'Rate My Company,' I was quite content with what I had come to. Fellow classmate Kerri brought up the point of legalities and issues that could arise from a site that could contain remarks less than flattering on ones company in a comment to my post. The two sites I had been referring back to when working ...
  • A Place for ‘The Resting Place’

Let's face it, traditional media has been working on it's own final resting place over the past few years. For the most part, the big guys upstairs are still old-school and think that they are still going to pull through this "digital fad." Well, news for you guys upstairs, not going to happen. I came across fellow classmates idea for his website project called 'The Resting Place.' While I am not morbid, nor does he seem to be, I actually thought this was a great idea. A year after my gra...

Every time I download an app on my iPhone I look at it like it is one of the most simple things I have seen, there isn't anything thrilling about the non gaming apps after you have worked standard web design so my thought is, how hard could it be? I decided to go web surfing to see what I could dig up. What I found is that not only is it difficult but it could be easily a month to roll out the simplest program. Ouch. I don't intend to be popping out any iApps anytime soon, however if you ARE som...
  • Trillion Dollar Idea: Rate My Company

After some thought through my three previous brainstorms as well as poking around the net, I decided that my project will be 'Rate My Company.' While there are some websites out there based on networking or finding out compensation details, there is no major destination to find out detailing information on a company that someone may want to know before accepting or declining any job offer. I have had the good luck to be employed by two fantastic companies however I know several people who...

I stumbled upon this link and I was really entertained. Basically the Telegraph got its hands on screen grabs of websites when they were first launched. Some took some massive strides, while others kept their simplistic nature. Google other than a little fine tuning is basically the same. Until Yahoo! introduced its web portal a few years ago it really was the same from its inception. Shockingly sites like Craigslist HAVE made progress despite their physical attraction! It's crazy to see h...
