LinkedIn has become THE professional social networking site. In my opinion it serves as a pared down resume and allows connections and people who may stumble upon you to see what you are all about. Unlike other social networking sites, it doesn't really give a large focus on the person, but their professional achievements. It would be hard to understand the person behind their profile. I still stand strong that while it is a rather basic ideas, there really isn't a stand up competitor to the idea of giving your company an evaluation or looking through company evaluations in one spot. LinkedIn is the only major general professional social network that I have actually heard of or see people use. If there are more, they definitely aren't making themselves well known. So HOW am I going to get this site to work? That's a very good question. I know HOW I want it to work, I know how I want people to interact with it, but it's the technology needs that are going to be the biggest mountain to climb.
If I want to keep this an automated site instead of publishing html for every company and every comment made, I need to wrap my head around the type of technology used by the current ratings sites I have been looking at to create this idea. Scripts to learn, boo...

My plan for 'Rate My Company' was born, not from other professional networking sites, but actually from back in the day during the first college degree when everyone would flock to Rate My Professors to figure out who to sign up for and who to avoid class wise.
